AUSTIN WOMEN’S TENNIS ASSOCIATION is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting opportunities for adult women in the Austin area. We encourage social, league and tournament play, tennis clinics, and help support the expansion of Austin public tennis facilities and youth development activities.
League Play – AWTA functions as a citywide “tennis club” for women who aren’t affiliated with a private tennis club but want to compete in Women’s Team Tennis of Austin WTTA recreational weekday leagues. WTTA League play consists of 9 flights – Super Championship (the highest level), Championship, through Flight 7 (for players just starting out), as well as a separate league for Seniors (55 and up). For more information, including WTTA match regulations, visit the WTTA website.
Monday PlayDays – AWTA also sponsors informal Monday PlayDays where we provide avenues for women who don’t play league tennis to enjoy the sport and meet players they might not encounter otherwise. This is social tennis perfect for players who are new to the game, just coming back from a layoff, or looking for other players at their level, typically ranging from NTRP 2.5 to 3.5. PlayDays are on Monday mornings starting at 8:30 am at Caswell Tennis Center.
